Sculptra

Sculptra
Sculptra Aesthetic® is unlike other dermal fillers on the market when it comes to reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds and enhancing the volume of your cheeks.
What makes Sculptra unique?
Unlike competitors, Sculptra dermal filler is not a gel. Rather, it’s made up of polylactic acid (PLLA) particles suspended in water. When injected into specific areas of your face, the filler adds volume to fill in lines or hollowing associated with aging.
With time, Sculptra stimulates the regeneration and renewed production of your own natural collagen. The PLLA particles dissolve, but your skin’s own collagen protein stays in place to maintain your results.
You get natural-looking results that give you a more youthful look without appearing as if you’ve had “work” done.
What signs of aging can Sculptra treat?
Sculptra best treats areas of wrinkling and volume loss. These include:
- Smile lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Chin wrinkles
- Marionette lines
- Hollow cheeks
Dr. Cui doesn’t use Sculptra to plump your lips or to treat the under-eye area. Other dermal fillers offered by Dr. Cui can help address these areas. Ask the doctor about your options.
Sculptra may also be used to improve the appearance of certain parts of your body such as the buttocks, area above the knee, and décolleté. Sculptra is versatile in its ability to replace lost volume and stimulate collagen production in many areas of the body.
How long do the results of Sculptra last?
Sculptra gives you results for up to two years. Many patients report still being happy with their results 25 months after treatment.
Who should consider Sculptra as a dermal filler treatment?
Anyone older than 30 who is bothered by volume loss in their face or who has significant lines and wrinkling can benefit from Sculptra injections. Dr. Cui creates a customized plan to help you understand how Sculptra helps you achieve your cosmetic goals.
Do Sculptra treatments require downtime?
There’s no need to schedule formal downtime following Sculptra dermal filler injections. You may have some swelling and bruising in the treatment areas, but this lasts only a few days, and makeup can cover it.
Right after treatment, Dr. Cui advises you to massage the treatment area to help distribute the PLLA particles and improve collagen stimulation.
