Kybella

Kybella

If you have a troublesome profile with a prominent double chin, Kybella® injections can help. Kybella shrinks submental fullness to give you a more streamlined facial appearance.

What does Kybella treat?
Kybella is a simple treatment for submental fullness or a double chin. You may develop a double chin due to being overweight, but it can also form when skin becomes lax as you age or due to genetics.
A double chin can make you feel self-conscious, negatively affecting your profile and confidence. Double chins are usually resistant to traditional weight-loss methods, too.

How does Kybella work?
Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, a molecule naturally present in your body that helps break down dietary fat.
When injected under your skin, into the site of submental fullness, Kybella destroys fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated through your body’s waste removal systems.
Kybella is FDA-approved. With Kybella, you experience a reduction in chin size that noticeably improves your profile. Kybella is not a comprehensive weight-loss treatment, however.

Who is a candidate for Kybella treatments?
A double chin can make you look older or heavier than you actually are. You want to reduce it to feel better about your profile, but find no matter how zealously you follow a healthy lifestyle, you can’t reduce your double chin. In these cases, Kybella may be for you.
Kybella is an alternative to invasive surgery or liposuction to reduce your double chin. It is quick and effective, requiring no downtime. People of all ages are eligible for Kybella treatment.

How many Kybella treatments will I need?
Most people get the results they desire with 2-4 treatments spaced about one month apart. In some cases, a person may need up to six treatments to achieve their goals.
Dr. Cui puts together a customized treatment plan depending on your profile, how you react to the injections and your goals.

How long do the results of Kybella last?
Kybella is a permanent solution to a double chin. The injections destroy fat cells so they can’t regenerate or reappear. Other fat cells under your chin could expand, however, if you gain significant weight. Follow a healthy lifestyle to keep your profile intact.
